I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in the Recording Industry-Music Business in 2003. I married my amazing husband Justin one week after we graduated. Although we both had just achieved degrees from a top-rated program, neither of us wanted to settle for starting at the bottom of the corporate ladder.

Instead of taking a honeymoon, we started a business plan. Six months later we opened a bookstore. Owning our own brick and mortar business has been A LOT of work. Being able to work together though has been an absolute dream.

Although our book business was supporting us, we quickly realized that there had to be a better way to work for ourselves that didn’t require us to spend 80 hours a week trapped inside a retail outlet. It was about this time that a good friend told me about her new candle business and asked if she could sell her candles in the gift portion of our store. I agreed, not thinking much of it.

Within the first week of carrying her candles, a girl who came in my store signed up to work as a partner with my friend marketing the candles. I was amazed at how fast her candle business was growing and decided I needed to get all of the information for myself.

After sitting down with her I was AMAZED that for $39.95 a month I could own my own business backed by an international company with a solid track record! Our store’s electric bill alone was 10 to 15 times more than that a month! I’m not even going to mention how much we paid monthly for space rental in our shopping center. It makes me sick to my stomach to think about it!

Needless to say, I signed up and started my own home-based candle business! As you can see from the business opportunity link, there are many different ways to make money in this business.
